Founded in 1867 the Gunnedah Jockey Club manages horse racing at the Gunnedah Racecourse or otherwise known as the Riverside Racecourse.

An average of 8 race meetings are conducted here annually, including the feature event, the Gunnedah Gold Cup run each May.
